Life is a Process

There are a lot of things in life that are process rather than product. Take losing weight for example. Controlling one’s weight is a lifetime commitment. If a person commits to losing weight for six months, gets to a good weight, and then considers the matter over with, he or she will gain the weight back. If one takes up a foreign language in school and drops it after graduation, the acquired language will gradually go away. Anyone who has tried a variety of “get-rich-quick” schemes can tell you that such schemes do not get you rich. Acquiring wealth is a lifetime process that begins with being thrifty, doing a lot of learning, being creative, and making wise decisions and it never ends because all of these must be continued throughout life. Thrift, learning, creativity, and wise decision making will change levels, but they must continue throughout life in order to be successful. Thrift is to know that resources are always limited; and therefore, must be conserved. No matter how much you know or think you know there is more to be learned; the truth changes. Old decisions require change as change is inevitable. A successful business feeds on new creative ideas. God didn’t make the universe in six days no matter how much you want to believe it. Life is evolution, business is evolution. God has never stopped making the universe and never will. It is an unending process. If we don’t keep moving ahead, we will fall through the cracks.
